My girly Scout is on one of my favorite sites. I’ve learned more from reading Whip Up than almost any other online source. If you’ve been thinking about making your own yarn colorways, you won’t want to miss her tutorial or the warp board directions (I’ve sent the link to Neal. I hope he’s in the basement getting busy with my warp board!).
Right after I posted yesterday I saw that the Spring Knitty is up. I spent some time admiring everything, and now I’ll share my faves with you. Only if you promise to tell me what yours are. Ok. Cross your heart? Let’s go, then.
Even though I only get about one pedicure a season, I adore these pedicure socks. I may make them for holiday gifts, I like them that much.
The Convertible reminds me a lot of a pattern I got for free at my favorite TN LYS. I made two feather and fan convertible shrugs for gifts last year, and I had a hard time giving them up. I do like the closures better on this pattern, though, so I will probably give it a try at some point. Maybe for me.
You promised you’d tell me what you want to make out of Knitty…or at least what you like best. I’m waiting.
Hey, a promise is a promise: even though they frighten me (in terms of difficulty, that is), I like tendrils, convertible, the pedi socks, and the crustaceans. Fun fun!
I’ve almost finished the first gauntlet–just gotta do the thumb. I’ll see if I can’t post some pics once it’s finished. Thanks for the ribbon sites!
Hey Bev! I love those pedicure socks! There are some other attractive patterns in the new one: I like Jamesey, and the Anatolia one is catching my eye too…
Hope you are well!
Best wishes,
Lolly
Funny, I thought the exact same thing about Convertible when I saw it! I love the pedi socks, particularly love Jamesy (but two of James’ aunts are old friends so I’m biased!)
I’m going to have to make Reid for someone’s little girl and am intrigued by Tendrils. I’m not the biggest fan of knitting with beads though. All the more reason to make that one, right?
I liked Topi and Hadera. Now that I told you that, wanna go vote for my stash? Just leave a comment here:

saying you vote for trek. Thanks.
I like Hedera. I’m thinking about using Mama-E’s Lolly for it.
I actually love my girl Cookie’s socks!
Hi Beverly! I just now saw your comment on the Hat City Scissor Squad blog about our super crafty swap!
We picked names from a hat one night when we were all together and gave ourselves somewhere in the neighborhood of a month – a bit more than a month if I remember correctly! We had a $10 limit, but could use anything we had around the house and not count that towards the $10… 🙂
We just did another one around Xmas time actually! This time we each made a batch of “little somethings” – we each walked away with a small gift from each of our crafty buds! It was really fun.
Good luck with your swap! Can’t wait to see what you guys do!
PS – did you say you were moving to New England? Back to CT by chance? Please know you have an open invitation to join the Scissor Squad for drinks and crafts!
I liked the checkered scarf – although I’ve been knitting too many scarves lately so there’s no chance I will knit another anytime soon. I also liked Jamesy because it’s sort of longish & Stefanie’s pattrn but probably without the embroidery.
I liked the Checkered scarf, but would probably want to do it in a very subtle, monochromatic colorway. I also liked the cadet hat.
